Houses in an Urban Context – High Definition Approaches
1-2 November 2018: The course will offer lectures and discussions about key current themes and methods of domestic archaeology. The focus will be on both conceptual and hands-on archaeological approaches to investigate houses in past cities, in cultures ranging from Classical Antiquity to the late Medieval period. Discussions and group work related to the lectures and the student case studies will play an important role.

Profession and organization
30 October - 2 November 2018: The aim of the course is to strengthen the ability of its participants to analyse relevant problems in a society eager to reform. It offers an overview of the central concepts of research into professions and professional work. Finally, the course provides an analytical gaze for how much more is put at stake in relation to what professional work may mean and what may count as professional knowledge than current political reforms assumes responsibility for.

23 - 26 October 2018: The questions and aims we will be dealing with in this PhD course are how different understandings of organizations, coordination of work, management and control make it possible to research learning and education. Theories of Language Awareness and their Implications for Plurilingual Language Teaching
8 October 2018: This PhD course consists of a morning lecture by Professor Ulrike Jessner-Schmid on the topic mentioned in the course title and a master class in the afternoon. In the lecture, Professor Jessner-Schmid will present some of her own recent research on multilingual awareness in language learning and discuss the state of the art within theories of language awareness.
